The next StuMeTa is taking place in May 2026 in Karlsruhe. We are already hard at work planning to welcome you to Campus Süd of Karlsruhe Instutute of Technology from May 13 to 17, 2026. This year, you can look forward to exciting lectures, workshops, and excursions again.

Was ist die StuMeTa? / What is the StuMeTa?
Die Studentische Meteorologie Tagung findet seit 1984 jedes Jahr für alle deutschsprachigen Meteorologiestudierenden an wechselnden Universitäten statt und wird jeweils von den dortigen Studierenden organisiert. Dieses Jahr findet sie in Karlsruhe statt. Der Fokus liegt auf dem Austausch von Studierenden und der Fortbildung durch Vorträge und Exkursionen.
The Student Meteorology Conference has been held every year since 1984 for all German-speaking meteorology students at different universities and is organized by the students there. This year it is taking place in Karlsruhe. The focus is on the exchange of students and further education through lectures and excursions.

Über Karlsruhe / About Karlsruhe
Karlsruhe liegt im wunderschönen Baden-Württemberg. Bekannt ist die Stadt vor allem durch das Bundesverfassungsgericht, Karlsruhe wird aber auch gerne als „Fächerstadt“ oder „Stadt der Medienkunst“ bezeichnet. Neben dem Meteorologie Studium am Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) bietet die Stadt ein lebhaftes Studentenleben mit gemütlichen Cafés, Parks und vielfältige Bars. Aufgrund der Nähe zum Schwarzwald und zu Frankreich lässt sich auch im Karlsruher Umland viel erleben.
Das Institut für Meteorologie und Klimaforschung (IMK) besteht aus vier eigenständigen Instituten an den Standorten Campus Süd, Campus Nord und Campus Alpin. Am Campus Süd in der Karlsruhe Innenstadt findet ihr uns an der Fakultät für Physik im 13. Stock des Physikhochhauses.
Um noch mehr über Karlsruhe zu erfahren und die Stadt zu erleben, kommt am Besten selbst vorbei!
Karlsruhe is a city in beautiful Baden-Württemberg. The city is mostly known for the Federal Constitutional Court. But people also like to call it the „City of Media Arts“ or „fan-shaped city“ due to its urban layout. Other than studies in Meteorology at the Karlruhe Intitute of Technology (KIT), the city offers a vibrant student life. There are cozy cafés, parks and a wide variety of bars. Thanks to its proximity to the Black Forest and France there’s a lot to discover in the surrounding area.
The Institute of Meteorology and Climate Research (IMK) includes four independent institutes located at Campus Süd, Campus Nord and Campus Alpin. You can find us at Campus Süd in the city center at the Physics Faculty building on the 13th floor.
We recommend visiting to learn more about Karlsruhe and experience the city for yourselves.
